Late autumn reveals the truth of a tree as the last leaves are stripped and the essence of structure remains to endure the winter. Hundreds of New Yorkers daily pass under these majestic American Elms along the Mall in Central Park. Above the fray of the crowds below, the graphical rhythm of the branches and dance of form is magnanimously displayed for all who pause to contemplate what is always there.
